Gilligan's Island's
Mary Ann caught with mary jane
Dawn Wells, who played a wholesome farm girl on the 1960's television
shipwreck sitcom Gilligan's Island was arrested for marijuana
possession last week. In a statement released through her publicist Ms. Wells responded, “Golly gee!"
Ms Wells'
former castmates, many of whom passed away some time ago, expressed
their concern for her well-being and dismay at the shocking
allegations. Alan Hale Jr., after Bob Denver accidentally dropped a conch shell on his foot,
responded, “Do'h!”
Russell
Johnson wondered if her needs weren't medicinal and perhaps maybe even
extended back to the days of shooting the show. “Even though that
particular species of cannabis
wasn't native to the island we certainly could have searched for an
endemic variety, or perhaps set up a rudimentary
methamphetamine lab using coconut shells, palm fronds, sea water and an
exercise
bike.”
Tina Louise breathily
surmised, “I bet such a big, handsome Hollywood reporter must
know all the really famous movie producers,” asking softly into this reporter's ear, “Don'cha?”
Natalie Schafer was flustered upon hearing the news. “It's absolutely dreadful.
Such a nice young girl caught up in a situation like this. And whatever
for?”
Jim
Backus politely interrupted the distressed Ms. Schafer. “Lovey,
dear. Don't discuss it with the media. It's
positively unseemly," adding with a chin jut, "Now come along, dear. We've a polo match for which to dress.”
