"Who Beat Whom..." A British dandy's look at the week's
athletics contests.
I
say! That golfer Mr. Woods swung brilliantly this weekend
beating the knickers off of some seventy-odd other professional
sportsmen at state-side Torrey Pines. The rest of the field
might as well have been enjoying tea and crumpets as playing at
golf! Damned impressive! Jolly good show, Mr. Woods!
Speaking
of dominance, Mr. Federer surely has defeated whomever he ended up
playing in the finals of that Grand Slam Aussie bit of the tennis
tour. Honestly, I don't even bother to pay attention
anymore. Bloody good match, Rog ol' boy! Bloody
good indeed!
It's been a snad bit quiet for
American football fans of late as the two teams scheduled to play in
the “Super Bowl” took advantage of an off
week to make preparations for the contest. New York's Giants
put on an absolutely brilliant show dispatching that French farce
Monsieur Favre and his
“cheddar” chums!
Really! Spot on! Now don't set long upon those
laurel leaves, lads! A word or two of advice from the ol'
mother country: Avoid donning “bull's
eye”-red petticoats and forming conspicuous lines of offense
three chaps deep. Those Patriots can be a bit wily in
battle, you know.
Tally-ho gents and balls on!
